Damian Sansonetti and Ilma Lopez, who also own Piccolo, have a smash hit on their hands with their second Portland restaurant, Chaval. The menu includes French, Spanish, and Italian influences, an affordable wine list, an excellent cocktail program, and Lopez’s heavenly desserts. Brunch is one of the hottest tickets in town, and in warm weather the outdoor patio is the place to be on the West End.
